In the Despicable Me franchise, what is the name of the organization that employs Lucy Wilde?

Lucy Wilde works for the Anti-Villain League in the Despicable Me franchise.

The Anti-Villain League, commonly abbreviated as the AVL, is an international organization that combats supervillains. In Despicable Me 2, it assigns Lucy to recruit Gru because his experience as a former villain may help identify the person responsible for a dangerous criminal operation.

The organization gives Gru a new role after he abandons his active villain career. Its methods include surveillance, undercover work, specialized technology, and coordinated investigations. The AVL therefore functions as the institutional counterpart to the villains and secret criminal groups in the series.

Lucy Wilde is one of its agents, and Silas Ramsbottom serves as a senior official. Gru’s partnership with the AVL also supports one of the franchise’s recurring themes: people associated with villainy can redirect their skills toward protecting others.
