Evan Davis presented the British TV show Dragon's Den from its 2005 launch until 2023.
Davis is a British journalist, economist and broadcaster who became closely associated with the programme’s interview-led format. As presenter, he introduced entrepreneurs, managed the pitch-room conversation and asked follow-up questions while the Dragons considered whether to invest.
He was the original regular presenter when Dragon's Den began on BBC Two. In 2023, BBC announced that comedian and broadcaster Sara Davies would take over presenting duties for the programme’s nineteenth series. This means Davis is associated with the show’s long first era, while later viewers may know a different host.
Davis should not be confused with the Dragons themselves. The presenter does not negotiate investments or sit on the panel; those roles belong to the business investors. He also presents BBC Radio 4’s Today programme and has worked extensively in economics and broadcast journalism.
