Tom Pellereau invented the Stylfile curved nail file on the British TV show Dragons' Den.
Pellereau, an inventor and product designer, pitched the Stylfile to the Dragons in 2011. The product used a curved shape designed to follow the natural contour of a fingernail, making filing easier and more controlled than with a conventional straight file. Its simple, recognisable design made the product easy to demonstrate in the pitch.
Deborah Meaden invested in the business after the presentation. The company then developed additional nail-care products based on the same design approach. Pellereau’s appearance is notable because the product was a physical invention with a clear everyday use rather than a service or technology platform.
The name Stylfile refers to the product range and company brand, while Tom Pellereau is the inventor and entrepreneur. It is also separate from Tangle Teezer, another well-known Dragons' Den product that became successful after the Dragons declined to invest.
