Jordan Daykin became the youngest-ever person to receive investment on the British TV show Dragon's Den after pitching GripIt Fixings.
Daykin appeared on the programme as an 18-year-old entrepreneur. His company, GripIt Fixings, developed wall fixings designed to support heavy items in plasterboard, addressing a practical problem faced by people hanging shelves, radiators and other fixtures.
The pitch attracted investment from the Dragons and made Daykin one of the show's most recognisable young entrepreneurs. The record concerns receiving investment on the programme, not simply appearing as a young contestant. It is also distinct from the separate question of which Dragon was youngest when joining the panel.
GripIt became a notable example of a product-led pitch: the business was based on a specific physical innovation with an easily demonstrated use. That clarity helped distinguish it from proposals relying mainly on an idea or an untested business concept.
