The British TV show Dragons' Den originally broadcast on BBC Two.
The programme premiered in the United Kingdom in 2005, adapting the international Dragons' Den format for British viewers. Entrepreneurs present business ideas to a panel of wealthy investors, known as dragons, and seek investment in exchange for an ownership stake.
BBC Two was the programme's original home and remained strongly associated with the show for many years. This is sometimes confused with BBC One because the series became a major mainstream hit and attracted a large audience.
The British version later became one of the best-known editions of the format. Its success also helped popularise several participating investors, including Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden and Duncan Bannatyne, beyond the programme itself.
