Rob Law created the Trunki children's ride-on suitcase before appearing on the British TV series Dragons' Den.
Law developed Trunki as a child-friendly form of luggage that children could sit on and ride while travelling. The product grew from an earlier concept called the Kid's Ride-On Suitcase and was designed to make airport journeys more manageable for families.
Law appeared on Dragons' Den in 2006, during the programme's early years. He did not secure an investment in the televised pitch, but Trunki became a successful international product through the company Magmatic.
The story is often remembered because rejection on the programme did not prevent the business from growing. Trunki later won design recognition and became associated with colourful, durable travel products for children.
