In the British TV series Dragons' Den, which Dragon is the founder of Phones 4u?

John Caudwell, a former Dragon on the British TV series Dragons' Den, founded Phones 4u.

Caudwell and his brother Brian established the mobile-phone retailer in 1987. The business expanded as mobile phones moved from specialist equipment into the mainstream consumer market, eventually becoming one of Britain's best-known independent phone retailers.

Caudwell joined Dragons' Den as an investor for the programme's second series in 2006 and remained for one series. His business background was rooted in telecommunications rather than the retail and fashion interests associated with several other Dragons.

Phones 4u later became a major high-street chain, but the company entered administration in 2014 after network operators ended their commercial relationships with it. Caudwell subsequently became known for philanthropy through the Caudwell Children's charity.
