Sara Davies founded the craft company Crafter's Companion.
Davies created Crafter's Companion while she was studying at the University of York. Its first major product was the Enveloper, a tool intended to help crafters make envelopes to fit handmade cards. The business grew from that focused product into a company supplying craft tools, materials and related products.
Her story is notable because the company began as a student venture rather than as an established retailer or inherited enterprise. Crafter's Companion later developed international reach and a strong direct-to-consumer presence. Those details help explain why Davies’s investment interests on Dragon's Den often include product design, manufacturing and specialist customer communities.
The company is sometimes mistaken for a business founded by another female dragon, particularly Deborah Meaden or Kelly Hoppen. They are associated with different commercial careers. Crafter's Companion is specifically linked to Davies, who joined the Dragon's Den panel in 2019 and became the show’s first Scottish female dragon.
