Social Chain was the social-media marketing business co-founded by Steven Bartlett before he became a Dragon.
Bartlett co-founded Social Chain with Dominic McGregor in 2014. The company developed campaigns and digital strategies for brands, operating in the rapidly expanding social-media and online-marketing sector.
The business name is sometimes confused with Bartlett's later media work, especially The Diary of a CEO, which is a podcast and media brand rather than the company that first made his entrepreneurial reputation. Social Chain is also distinct from Crafter's Companion, founded by fellow Dragon Sara Davies.
Bartlett's background in digital communities and online marketing helped distinguish him from Dragons whose main experience came from high-street retail or physical-product businesses. He joined the Dragon's Den panel in 2022.
