Peter Jones was the only original Dragon to appear in every series of Dragons' Den up to series 17.
Jones joined the original investor panel when the British programme began in 2005. Unlike the other original Dragons, he remained a regular presence through the programme's changing line-ups and became its longest-serving continuous investor during that period.
The panel changed repeatedly as investors left and new Dragons arrived. Duncan Bannatyne, Theo Paphitis and Deborah Meaden are all strongly associated with the early years, but they did not share Jones's uninterrupted run through every series covered by the distinction.
The wording matters because later series and guest appearances can change how longevity is counted. Peter Jones is the specific answer to the original-Dragon, every-series claim, rather than simply the investor with the largest fortune or the longest individual tenure measured another way.
