Peter Jones is the Dragon who has appeared as a panel investor on the British television show Dragon's Den since its 2005 launch.
Jones is a British entrepreneur and businessman whose interests have included mobile communications, technology, property and leisure. On Dragon's Den, he became one of the programme's most recognisable investors and was part of the original panel assembled for the BBC series.
The other original Dragons did not remain continuously on the programme. Theo Paphitis and Duncan Bannatyne later left, while Deborah Meaden joined after the first series and became a long-running panel member. Peter Jones is therefore the safest answer when a question asks which original Dragon has stayed throughout.
Jones has also appeared in the American version of the format, Shark Tank, underlining the international reach of the business-pitch concept. His long tenure on the British programme makes him closely associated with its identity.
