Peter Jones is the original Dragon who has remained on the British Dragon's Den panel since the programme began in 2005.
Jones joined the launch line-up alongside Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Doug Richard and Simon Woodroffe. The panel has changed substantially over the years, but Jones has continued to appear as a main Dragon, making him the programme's longest-serving original investor.
Jones is a British entrepreneur and television personality whose business interests have included telecommunications, technology and media. His public profile grew significantly through Dragon's Den, where he became known for questioning entrepreneurs about sales, margins, valuation and ownership.
The other original Dragons did not all remain: Woodroffe and Richard left after the early series, Elnaugh departed after the second series, and Bannatyne later left the show. Peter Jones is therefore the distinctive surviving member of the original five-Dragon line-up, not the first Dragon to appear on the programme.
