Shaun Pulfrey founded Tangle Teezer, the hairbrush company associated with the British television series Dragons' Den.
Pulfrey is a British hair colourist and inventor who developed a brush designed to remove tangles while reducing pulling and breakage. He pitched the product on Dragons' Den in 2007. Although the original pitch did not secure the investment he wanted, the business later grew substantially through retail sales and international distribution.
Tangle Teezer's distinctive design uses rows of flexible teeth arranged to pass through tangled hair. The product was marketed as suitable for wet or dry hair and for different hair types, helping it move beyond the professional salon market.
The company is often remembered because its founder's television rejection was followed by commercial success. It should not be confused with Reggae Reggae Sauce, another prominent 2007 pitch, or with the later inventions of Tom Pellereau.
