In the British television programme Dragons' Den, which presenter hosted the first two series?

The story behind the answer

Adrian Chiles hosted the first two series of the British television programme Dragons' Den.

Chiles presented the programme when it launched on BBC Two in 2005. His role was to introduce the entrepreneurs, provide context around their pitches and guide viewers through the negotiations with the investors.

He later became widely known for presenting football coverage and The One Show. In Dragons' Den, he was succeeded by Evan Davis, who became the programme's long-running presenter from the third series.

The presenter is separate from the dragons themselves. The presenter does not decide whether an entrepreneur receives investment; that decision belongs to the investors, who assess the proposal, valuation and terms during the pitch.
