Michelle Mone founded the lingerie retailer Ultimo and later appeared as an investor on the British television programme Dragon's Den.
Mone launched Ultimo in 1996 after developing a cleavage-enhancing bra. The brand became known for selling lingerie designed with specialist construction and celebrity marketing. Her experience building the company established her as a prominent Scottish entrepreneur before she joined the Dragon's Den panel.
Mone appeared as a Dragon in the programme's eleventh series in 2015. She was a guest investor rather than one of the five original Dragons. That distinction helps separate her from earlier female panel members such as Rachel Elnaugh and Deborah Meaden.
Ultimo is also commonly confused with Mone's later businesses and public work. The lingerie brand is the company that made her best known in retail. Her role on Dragon's Den connected that entrepreneurial history with the show's investment format.
