James Caan founded the investment company Hamilton Bradshaw and later appeared as a Dragon on the British television programme Dragon's Den.
Hamilton Bradshaw was established by Caan as a private-equity investment firm. Its name is distinct from the recruitment and executive-search businesses through which he first built much of his reputation, including Alexander Mann Group and Humana International.
Caan joined the Dragon's Den panel in the show's sixth series. His investment background meant that he often assessed proposals through the lens of scalability, management quality and potential returns rather than focusing only on the product itself.
The company is sometimes confused with businesses in which Caan invested rather than founded. Hamilton Bradshaw is the specific investment firm he established, making it a useful way to distinguish his own corporate platform from the many companies connected with his portfolio.
