In the Book of Genesis, Noah’s youngest listed son is Ham.
Genesis 9:24 describes Ham as Noah’s “younger son” after the episode involving Noah’s drunkenness and uncovered state. Genesis names Noah’s three sons as Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and later genealogies connect them with peoples and nations known to the biblical authors.
A common mix-up is Canaan, who was Ham’s son, not Noah’s son. Genesis 10:6 lists Canaan among Ham’s descendants. The text’s wording about birth order can create additional uncertainty because the three names are not always presented in the same order, but Ham is explicitly called the younger son in Genesis 9:24.
In the Ark narrative, all three sons enter the Ark with Noah, along with Noah’s wife and the wives of his sons. The family survives the Flood, and the post-Flood genealogies in Genesis trace many later peoples through their lines.
