Kelly Hoppen is the founder of the interior-design and homewares brand Kelly Hoppen Ltd and appeared as a regular dragon on the BBC television show Dragon's Den.
Hoppen began her design career as a teenager and became known for a style built around neutral colours, clean lines and a highly structured approach to interiors. Her company developed products and services connected with interiors, furniture and home design.
She joined the Dragon's Den panel in 2013, bringing specialist experience from design and luxury consumer markets. Her role was different from that of dragons whose careers were rooted mainly in retail, finance or technology.
Hoppen has also designed interiors for private clients and commercial projects, written design books and appeared on other television programmes. The company name is sometimes mistaken for a product label, but it is directly associated with its founder's professional design practice.
