Evan Davis presented the BBC television series Dragon's Den from its 2005 launch until 2013.
Davis is an economist, journalist and broadcaster who became familiar to many British viewers through BBC news and current-affairs programmes. In Dragon's Den, he guides entrepreneurs into the studio, introduces their pitches and manages the questioning between founders and investors.
He left the presenting role after the programme's eighth series. The show continued with other presenters, including Adrian Chiles and, later, Evan Davis's successor, Touker Suleyman-era hosts. A common mix-up is confusing the presenter with the Dragons, who are the business investors sitting behind the long desk.
Dragon's Den is the British adaptation of the international Dragons' Den format, itself associated with the Japanese programme Money Tigers. The BBC version first aired in 2005 and became one of the best-known business reality series on British television.
