The British television series Dragon's Den first premiered in 2005.
The programme debuted on BBC Two as the UK adaptation of an international reality-business format. Entrepreneurs enter the studio and present their companies or products to a panel of wealthy investors, known as Dragons, seeking investment in exchange for equity.
The series became one of the BBC's best-known business programmes and later moved between BBC Two and BBC One. Its title uses the British spelling “Den”; versions in other countries commonly use titles such as Shark Tank.
The 2005 premiere date is different from the launch dates of the original Japanese format and overseas adaptations. It is also separate from the dates when individual Dragons joined the panel, since the cast changed repeatedly over the programme's history.
