Sara Davies is the dragon who founded Crafter's Companion and later joined the BBC television programme Dragons' Den.
Davies created Crafter's Companion in 2005 while she was a university student. The business began with a tool designed to help people make envelopes for handmade cards, then expanded into papercraft products, tools and supplies sold internationally.
Her entrepreneurial story is often cited because the company was built from a practical product idea rather than from an established retail empire. Davies became a dragon in 2019, bringing specialist experience in product development, e-commerce and craft retail to the panel.
Crafter's Companion should not be confused with a television production company or a craft television programme. It is a commercial craft-supplies business. Davies's founding role also distinguishes her from other female dragons whose best-known companies are associated with interior design, fashion or leisure.
