Evan Davis has presented the BBC show Dragon's Den since its first series.
Davis is a British journalist, economist and broadcaster who became the programme's presenter when the UK version launched in 2005. His role is to introduce the entrepreneurs, explain the pitch structure, manage the exchanges and announce whether an offer has been made.
The presenter is separate from the Dragons, who assess the businesses and decide whether to invest their own money. This distinction is sometimes blurred because Davis frequently asks follow-up questions and clarifies figures during negotiations.
Davis has also been associated with BBC news and current-affairs broadcasting, including Newsnight and the Today programme. His long tenure gives the British version a consistent link across changes to the investor panel, guest Dragons and studio presentation.
