Rob Law created the children's suitcase brand Trunki and pitched it on Dragon's Den.
Law presented Trunki during the show's fifth series in 2008, seeking investment to expand production and distribution. The ride-on suitcase had been designed for children to sit on and pull along, giving it a distinctive shape compared with conventional luggage.
The Dragon's Den appearance did not produce an investment deal. The rejection nevertheless gave the product substantial public attention, and Trunki later became an internationally recognised travel product for children. Its design was based on Law's earlier concept for a ride-on hand luggage product.
Trunki is sometimes confused with the name of the inventor or with another children's travel brand. Trunki is the product and brand; Rob Law is the British designer and entrepreneur who developed it. The business became particularly associated with colourful plastic cases shaped for young travellers.
