In the BBC show Dragons' Den, entrepreneurs present their businesses in the area known as the Den.
The Den is the programme's central set and gives the series its title. Entrepreneurs enter the room, make a short presentation, and then answer questions from the Dragons about their sales, costs, valuation, ownership, and plans for growth.
The name is part of the programme's metaphor: the investors are presented as powerful “dragons” whose approval must be won. A contestant may receive an offer from one Dragon, several Dragons, or none at all. Any agreement shown on television remains subject to due diligence and final legal terms.
The set is sometimes casually called a pitch room, but that is a generic description rather than the show's canonical name. The British programme uses “the Den,” while other versions of the format may use different titles, including “the Tank” in the United States.
