Evan Davis hosted the BBC series Dragons' Den from its launch in 2005.
Davis is a British journalist and broadcaster who became familiar to audiences through BBC business and political programming. His role on Dragons' Den was to introduce the entrepreneurs, guide viewers through the pitches and provide transitions between the studio negotiations.
He presented the programme’s first twelve series, covering its early BBC Two years and the arrival of several new investors. The presenter generally stays outside the bargaining itself, allowing the entrepreneurs and Dragons to control the pitch and discussion.
Later series were hosted by other BBC presenters, including Victoria Coren Mitchell and Evan Davis’s successor, but Davis remains strongly associated with the programme’s original era. He also presented Newsnight and BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.
