In the BBC series Dragon's Den, Dragon Theo Paphitis chaired Millwall from 1997 to 2005.
Paphitis became chairman of Millwall Football Club in 1997. His period at the club included a notable run to the 2004 FA Cup final, when Millwall became the first club from outside the top flight to reach the final since 1982. Manchester United won that final 3–0.
Paphitis is better known to many viewers for his retail businesses and his role as a Dragon. His sporting leadership is a separate part of his career and is often overlooked when summaries focus only on his commercial ventures.
Millwall is based in Bermondsey, south-east London, and plays at The Den. It should not be confused with nearby London clubs such as Crystal Palace, Charlton Athletic, and West Ham United, which have distinct histories and stadiums.
