In the BBC series Dragon's Den, which Dragon founded the retail chain Phones 4u?

In the BBC series Dragon's Den, John Caudwell is the entrepreneur who founded the retail chain Phones 4u.

Caudwell and his brother Brian established the business in 1987 under the name Midlands Mobile Phones. The company later expanded nationally and became known as Phones 4u, selling mobile phones and contracts through high-street stores and other retail channels.

Caudwell built his fortune in telecommunications before becoming associated with philanthropy and business investment. He appeared as a Dragon in the BBC programme, but he was not one of the long-running core investors seen in every era of the series.

A frequent confusion is to credit Peter Jones, who is also strongly associated with mobile-phone businesses. Jones founded Phones International, a different company, while Caudwell founded Phones 4u.
