Sara Davies founded the craft company Crafter's Companion before joining Dragons' Den.
Davies started Crafter's Companion in 2005 while she was a student at the University of York. Her first product was a tool designed to help crafters make envelopes, and she developed the business after identifying a gap in the market for accessible papercraft equipment.
The company expanded from its initial product into a broader international craft brand selling tools, materials and accessories. Davies's entrepreneurial background therefore came directly from building a product company rather than from a purely financial or advisory career.
She joined the BBC's Dragons' Den panel in 2019. Viewers sometimes confuse her with craft entrepreneurs who appeared as pitchers, but Davies was an investor and the founder of Crafter's Companion herself.
