In the BBC series Dragons' Den, which Dragon founded Bannatyne Fitness?
Answer
Duncan Bannatyne
Answer
Duncan Bannatyne
Duncan Bannatyne founded Bannatyne Fitness, the health-club business that bears his name.
Bannatyne developed a large business career across several sectors before becoming one of the original investors on the British version of Dragons' Den. His fitness company grew into a nationwide chain of health clubs, spas and hotels, making fitness a central part of his business identity.
He was one of the best-known early Dragons and became associated with a direct, sometimes forceful style during negotiations. Bannatyne left the regular panel after the twelfth series, having appeared in the programme for many years.
Bannatyne Fitness should not be confused with Ryman, the stationery retailer founded by Theo Paphitis, or Phones International, associated with Peter Jones. Those businesses belong to different Dragons and represent different parts of the panel’s commercial history.
