Nolan North voices Desmond Miles in the main Assassin's Creed games.
Desmond is the modern-day protagonist of the early series. Through the Animus, he relives the genetic memories of ancestors including Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, Ezio Auditore and Ratonhnhaké:ton. North's performance provides Desmond's voice across these connected modern-day sequences.
Desmond is sometimes confused with the historical assassins he experiences, but he is a separate present-day character. Nolan North is also widely known for voicing Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series, which can lead to mix-ups when identifying his game roles.
Desmond's story is most prominent from Assassin's Creed through Assassin's Creed III. Later games shifted their modern-day perspective toward new characters and a less direct playable protagonist.
