Michael Fassbender portrays Aguilar de Nerha in the 2016 Assassin's Creed film.
Aguilar is a Spanish Assassin active during the Spanish Inquisition in the late fifteenth century. The film follows his historical memories alongside the modern story of Callum Lynch, also played by Fassbender. The Animus allows Callum to experience Aguilar's actions and investigate the conflict between Assassins and Templars.
Aguilar belongs to the film's original historical storyline rather than being a direct appearance by Ezio, Altaïr, or Arno. His missions involve protecting members of the Spanish Assassin Brotherhood and opposing Templar plans connected with the Apple of Eden.
The movie was released in December 2016 and was directed by Justin Kurzel. Its modern-day plot expands the series' recurring idea that genetic memories can be accessed through advanced technology.
