In the 2016 film Assassin's Creed, which actor plays Callum Lynch and his ancestor Aguilar?

The story behind the answer

In the 2016 film Assassin's Creed, Michael Fassbender plays both Callum Lynch and his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha.

Callum Lynch is a modern-day man recruited by the Abstergo Foundation to use the Animus. Through the device, he relives memories of Aguilar, a fifteenth-century Assassin operating in Spain. Fassbender therefore performs the film's central modern and historical roles rather than playing two unrelated characters.

The film was directed by Justin Kurzel and released in December 2016. It uses the franchise's recurring conflict between Assassins and Templars while introducing an original modern protagonist and a new historical Assassin.

Jeremy Irons plays Alan Rikkin, and Brendan Gleeson plays Joseph Lynch, Callum's father. Ariane Labed plays Maria, an Assassin associated with Aguilar. These performers are important to the cast, but none plays both Callum and Aguilar.
