In the 2008 James Bond film Quantum of Solace, Bond drives an Aston Martin DBS during the opening chase.
The sequence begins with Bond transporting the captured Mr. White toward Siena, Italy. The DBS is pursued by several Alfa Romeo 159s, creating one of the film’s first major action scenes. The car is shown being driven aggressively through narrow roads and tunnels before Bond reaches the construction site.
The DBS was Aston Martin’s high-performance grand tourer, based on the DB9 but given a more powerful appearance and sharper handling. Quantum of Solace helped make the model strongly associated with the Daniel Craig era of Bond films.
This car is sometimes confused with the Aston Martin DB9 because the two models share much of their underlying engineering. They are distinct models, however. The DBS also appears in Casino Royale, although its dramatic crash in that film involves a different sequence and setting.
