In the 2008 film "WALL-E", the robot WALL-E falls in love with EVE. She is a sleek extraterrestrial-vegetation-evaluator robot sent to Earth to search for evidence that the planet can support life again.
WALL-E is the last functioning trash-compacting robot left on a ruined Earth, while EVE arrives from the starship Axiom on a survey mission. Their relationship begins when WALL-E shows EVE a living plant he has discovered. EVE stores the plant inside herself, enters standby mode, and is later collected by the Axiom, prompting WALL-E to follow her into space.
EVE is not simply a romantic character: her mission drives the film's central conflict. The plant proves that Earth may be habitable, giving the Axiom's human passengers a reason to return. Number 5 is a robot from "Short Circuit", Baymax belongs to "Big Hero 6", and R2-D2 is from "Star Wars".
