In the 2006 James Bond film Casino Royale, Bond drives a Ford Mondeo in the Bahamas.
The Mondeo appears after Bond arrives in the Bahamas while pursuing the terrorist financier Le Chiffre. The car is a fourth-generation Mondeo prototype, supplied before the model’s general European launch. Its inclusion gave Ford prominent placement in a major international film while presenting Bond in a comparatively ordinary car rather than an armed sports car.
This scene is often remembered because the Mondeo contrasts sharply with the Aston Martin DBS used later in the film. The Ford is not Bond’s principal action vehicle, and it has no unusual gadgets. The Bahamas sequence also includes a Ford Fairlane, but that is a separate vehicle associated with other characters. The Mondeo identification therefore refers specifically to the car Bond drives after arriving on the island.
