In Casino Royale, James Bond drives an Aston Martin DBS that crashes while he tries to rescue Vesper Lynd.
The DBS is introduced as a high-performance grand tourer created for the film and was based on the Aston Martin DB9. Bond uses it during the road sequence near the film’s climax, where he swerves to avoid Vesper and the car rolls repeatedly.
The stunt became famous because the production recorded seven full vehicle rolls, setting a Guinness World Records mark at the time for the most rolls by a car in a film. A concealed ramp helped initiate the dramatic movement.
The DBS is often confused with the DB9 because the two cars share major design elements. They are separate Aston Martin models, and Casino Royale’s damaged Bond car is specifically the DBS.
