In the 1990 film Home Alone, Kevin McCallister’s father is named Peter.
Peter McCallister is the father of Kevin and the other McCallister children. The family accidentally leaves Kevin behind when departing for a Christmas trip to Paris, creating the central situation of the film. Kevin must defend the house against burglars Harry and Marv while his family works to return home.
John Heard played Peter McCallister, and Catherine O’Hara played Kevin’s mother, Kate. The film focuses mostly on Kevin’s experience, so Peter has less screen time than Kate, whose frantic effort to get back to her son becomes a major parallel storyline.
Home Alone was written by John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus. It was released in 1990 and became one of the most commercially successful family comedies of its era. A frequent mistake is answering with Kevin’s uncle Frank, another adult McCallister who appears in the family group but is not his father.
