Which actor voiced the father Marlin in the 2003 Pixar film Finding Nemo?

The story behind the answer

Albert Brooks voiced the clownfish father Marlin in Pixar’s 2003 film Finding Nemo.

Marlin is an anxious clownfish who crosses the ocean after his son Nemo is captured by a diver. His search becomes the film’s central journey, while his relationship with Nemo develops from protective fear toward greater trust and independence.

Brooks supplied Marlin’s speaking voice, and Ellen DeGeneres voiced Dory, the forgetful fish who helps him. The film was written and directed by Andrew Stanton, with co-direction by Lee Unkrich, and it became one of Pixar’s best-known stories about parenthood.

Finding Nemo is sometimes confused with its 2016 sequel Finding Dory, whose title character is voiced by DeGeneres. Marlin remains a major character in the sequel, but the father-focused search belongs to the 2003 original.
