In the 1987 James Bond film The Living Daylights, an Aston Martin V8 is used for the cello-case escape.
Bond and Kara Milovy flee through Bratislava in a car disguised and equipped for the operation. The escape includes the memorable image of Kara riding in a cello case while the vehicle crosses a border checkpoint and continues through snow.
The film’s Aston Martin is commonly described as a V8, reflecting the model family used during production. Some references add “V8 Vantage” when discussing the higher-performance version seen earlier, but the cello-case sequence is generally identified with the Aston Martin V8.
This distinction explains why lists of Bond cars sometimes use slightly different labels for vehicles from the same production. The car’s role, however, is unambiguous: it is the Aston Martin used in the Bratislava escape.
