In the 1985 James Bond film A View to a Kill, Bond drives a Renault 11 taxi after escaping from Paris.
Bond commandeers the small taxi during his pursuit of May Day through the French capital. The car is damaged repeatedly as the chase moves through traffic and across the city, eventually losing its roof and much of its bodywork.
The Renault 11 was a compact French hatchback closely related to the Renault 9 sedan. The film used a specially modified version to create the unusual appearance seen during the stunt sequence.
The vehicle is often remembered only as a “Paris taxi,” which can lead to confusion with other French cars in the Bond series. Its precise identification is the Renault 11, not a Renault 5 or a Peugeot model.
