In Octopussy, James Bond drives an Alfa Romeo GTV6 during the car chase.
The GTV6 is a rear-wheel-drive sports coupé derived from Alfa Romeo’s Alfetta platform. Its sharp styling and V6 engine made it a fitting choice for the energetic chase through India, where Bond uses the car while pursuing the villains.
Octopussy was released in 1983 and was Roger Moore’s sixth Bond film. The vehicle sequence is often overshadowed by the film’s circus setting, the train action, and the tuk-tuk chase, but the Alfa Romeo gives Bond a distinctly European performance car.
The GTV6 is not the same model as the Alfa Romeo Spider, another famous Alfa sports car. The Spider is an open two-seat roadster, while the GTV6 used in Octopussy is a fixed-roof coupé.
