In the 1974 James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun, which AMC model is modified to fly?

The story behind the answer

In the 1974 James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun, an AMC Matador is modified to fly.

The car belongs to Francisco Scaramanga, Bond’s assassin opponent. In the film, the Matador changes into an aircraft-like vehicle by unfolding wings and a tail assembly, allowing Scaramanga to escape from a Thai airfield. The sequence is a deliberately extravagant example of the series’ fascination with vehicles that transform or conceal unusual capabilities.

The flying Matador was created from a customized version of the AMC Matador coupe, with the aircraft portions added for filming. It is not a genuine road-and-air production vehicle. The Matador should also be distinguished from the AMC Hornet, which appears in Live and Let Die one year earlier and performs the famous bridge jump. Both cars are American Motors products, but they serve entirely different roles in the films.
