In the 1973 James Bond film Live and Let Die, a Chevrolet Impala is used in the airport chase.
The car appears in the New Orleans section of the film, where Bond is transported during the investigation into Mr. Big’s operations. The chase uses American cars and crowded urban streets to create a setting very different from the European locations common in earlier Bond films.
The Chevrolet Impala was one of Chevrolet’s full-size models and was widely associated with American road culture. Period police and civilian versions appear throughout the film’s Louisiana sequences, making exact identification easy to overlook.
The Impala is separate from the double-decker bus used later in the film’s major chase. That bus sequence is often remembered more strongly, but the Chevrolet is one of the named cars used during the airport action.
