In Star Wars, who was the Jedi master of Qui-Gon Jinn?
Answer
Count Dooku
Answer
Count Dooku
In Star Wars, Count Dooku was the Jedi master of Qui-Gon Jinn.
Before becoming the Sith Lord Darth Tyranus, Dooku was a respected Jedi Master trained by Yoda. He later took Qui-Gon as his Padawan and trained him to knighthood. Their relationship is explored most directly in Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi and the novel Master & Apprentice, which recounts adventures from Qui-Gon’s apprenticeship.
Qui-Gon eventually became a Jedi Master in his own right and chose Obi-Wan Kenobi as his Padawan. That makes Obi-Wan the tempting mix-up: he was Qui-Gon’s student, not his teacher. Yoda was Dooku’s Jedi master, while Darth Sidious later became Dooku’s Sith master.
Dooku left the Jedi Order after becoming disillusioned with the Republic and its political corruption. He became Count of Serenno, led the Separatist movement during the Clone Wars, and secretly served Sidious.
