In "Star Trek", what is the name of Spock's home planet?

The story behind the answer

In "Star Trek," Spock's home planet is Vulcan.

Vulcan is a fictional planet inhabited by the Vulcans, a humanoid species known for valuing logic, emotional discipline, and scientific inquiry. Spock was born there to the Vulcan ambassador Sarek and the human Amanda Grayson. His mixed heritage gives him a distinctive place in the franchise: he is both a member of Vulcan society and a central officer in Starfleet.

Vulcan culture is commonly associated with the teachings of Surak, an ancient philosopher who helped guide the species away from violent conflict and toward logic. Vulcans are also known for the mind meld, heightened strength, pointed ears, and the greeting “Live long and prosper.”

The planet should not be confused with Romulus, the homeworld of the Romulans, who share ancient ancestry with Vulcans but developed into a separate civilization. Andoria and Tellar are also important Federation worlds, especially in the history of the United Federation of Planets, but neither is Spock's home planet.
