In Star Trek Beyond, the USS Enterprise crew crash on the planet Altamid.
The Enterprise is ambushed and destroyed by a swarm of small attack vessels while responding to a distress call. The surviving crew members escape in evacuation pods, but many are captured or scattered across Altamid, a remote planet in the uncharted region of space known as the Necro Cloud.
Altamid is controlled by Krall, the film's principal antagonist, who uses the planet as a base and commands a large force of alien ships. Captain Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, and the others must reunite there while discovering the history of Krall and the abandoned Starfleet vessel USS Franklin. Altamid is not the same location as Delta Vega, which appears in the 2009 film and in Star Trek Into Darkness.
