In season 4 of "Stranger Things", at which psychiatric hospital is Victor Creel held?

The story behind the answer

In season 4 of "Stranger Things," Victor Creel is held at Pennhurst, a fictional psychiatric asylum.

Nancy Wheeler and Robin Buckley visit Pennhurst in 1986 while investigating the murders connected to Vecna. They pose as psychology students to interview Victor, who has spent decades institutionalized after being blamed for the deaths of his wife Virginia and daughter Alice in 1959.

Victor insists that a supernatural demon killed his family. The season later reveals that the real killer was his son Henry Creel, who became Vecna. Victor survived the attack but was wrongly held responsible and tried to take his own life in prison, leaving him blind.

The fictional Pennhurst is distinct from Pennsylvania's real Pennhurst State School and Hospital, which helped inspire the show's asylum. It is also easy to confuse Victor's institution with Hawkins National Laboratory, where Henry and Eleven were studied; they are separate locations with different roles in the story.
