In season 2 of "Stranger Things", what name does Dustin give to the pack of dog-like creatures from the Upside Down?

The story behind the answer

In season 2 of “Stranger Things,” Dustin calls the dog-like creatures from the Upside Down “Demodogs.” The nickname combines “Demogorgon” with “dogs,” describing the creatures’ appearance and their relationship to the larger monster seen in season one.

Dustin first encounters a small creature that he believes is an unusual pollywog. He names it D’Artagnan, shortened to Dart, and secretly keeps it as a pet. Dart rapidly grows, reveals dangerous traits, and is eventually recognized as a juvenile Demogorgon. Similar creatures appear throughout Hawkins, especially in the tunnels connected to the Upside Down.

The Demodogs are linked to the Mind Flayer’s hive mind and help protect the underground network beneath Hawkins. Their attack on Hawkins Lab causes several deaths, including Bob Newby. Dustin’s bond with Dart remains significant, however: when the creatures are drawn away during the season’s climax, Dart recognizes Dustin and spares him.

“Demodogs” is the established nickname used by the characters and reference sources. “Demobats” belongs to a different creature type introduced later, while “Hellhounds” is not the group’s canonical name.
