In season 14, Hank and Peggy return to which fictional Texas town?

The story behind the answer

In season 14, Hank and Peggy return to Arlen, the fictional Texas town at the center of King of the Hill.

Arlen is the Hills’ longtime home and the setting for most of the series’ stories. Although it is fictional, the town is portrayed as a recognizable North Texas suburb, complete with modest homes, chain businesses, local schools, neighborhood routines, and a strong attachment to ordinary Texas life.

The revival begins after Hank and Peggy have spent years abroad working in Saudi Arabia. They come back to a changed Arlen and reconnect with old friends such as Dale Gribble, Bill Dauterive, and Boomhauer. That return-to-town setup lets season 14 contrast Hank’s traditional outlook with social and technological changes that occurred during his absence.

Arlen is easy to confuse with settings from other animated sitcoms. Langley Falls belongs to American Dad!, Quahog is the home of Family Guy, and Springfield is associated with The Simpsons. None is the fictional Texas community where the Hills live.
