Who co-created King of the Hill with Mike Judge?
Answer
Greg Daniels
Answer
Greg Daniels
Greg Daniels co-created King of the Hill with Mike Judge. The two creators combined Judge’s character and setting concepts with Daniels’s television-writing experience to develop the long-running animated sitcom.
Judge had already created Beavis and Butt-Head and brought the initial King of the Hill concept to Fox. The network paired him with Daniels, who had written for The Simpsons. Daniels helped shape the show’s ensemble, story structure, and grounded comic tone, while Judge voiced central characters including Hank Hill and Jeff Boomhauer.
King of the Hill debuted on Fox on January 12, 1997, and follows the Hill family in the fictional Texas town of Arlen. Its humor is often mistaken for broad cartoon comedy, but the series is especially known for its naturalistic approach to family life, work, religion, and regional culture. The revival’s fourteenth season premiered on Hulu in 2025, keeping Judge and Daniels central to the franchise.
